DUI Pretrial Hearings
What happens at a DUI pretrial hearing?
Once you have been arrested and arraigned for DUI in Washington the next step is the DUI pretrial hearing. It is usually scheduled 1 to 2 months after your
arraignment and bail hearing. At the DUI pretrial hearing both sides can discuss the status of the case and tell the judge how they plan to proceed and any pretrial motions they plan to make. It is also an opportunity for your
DUI defense attorney to discuss your case with the prosecutor and offer a plea bargain or present other arguments to have the charges reduced or even dismissed. To find out more about successfully fighting your DUI charges you should speak to
Lynnwood DUI lawyer Jonathan Dichter at the Dichter Law Office, PLLC.
I understand how difficult facing a DUI conviction can be, especially if it is a person's first experience with the criminal justice system. It can be overwhelming and embarrassing just to be arrested but it can be much more traumatic if you are convicted. Being found guilty of DUI in Washington carries a minimum mandatory jail sentence and license suspension and becomes part of a criminal record that can be used against you for years. I have a very high success rate of getting DUI charged either reduced to a lesser charge or dropped altogether. I am ready to help you starting the moment you call my offices.

There are three outcomes possible as a result of the DUI pretrial hearing. These include:
- Both sides discuss the facts of the case and through negotiation or plea bargains they reach an acceptable resolution.
- Request a continuance - either side can request additional time to prepare their case.
- Set a motion hearing and trial date - if no plea bargain or other resolution can be reached a date is set to hear motions as well as a final trial date (unless a motion is ruled on to reduce or dismiss the charges).
As an experienced DUI defense lawyer I have successfully fought for many of my clients to have their charges reduced or dismissed in DUI pretrial hearings. Call my offices for immediate help with your case.
